Union was based on a photo collected at a friend's medieval-themed wedding at the Galatley Nut Farm in West Kelowna, BC. I chose to depict a candid photo of the bride and groom rather than a posed portraiture. This allows for elusive characters and feel of romanticism. The painting was kept fairly accurate to the original photo.
