This image resulted from a summer of henna tattoos. Inspired by the traditional Mendhi designs, I decided to apply the henna technique to canvas. The linear design is raised three-dimentionally on the canvas, resembling the application of henna paste on skin. This is the first of an intended series of Henna Compositions. The play with pattern will be more stylized and simplified as the series progresses.
